2017 Boerne Holiday Happenings!

The most wonderful time of the year has    arrived, and there are so many ways to celebrate the wintry joy here in Boerne.  You won’t want to miss out on this year’s holiday cheer!  Whether you're shopping for the perfect gift, seeking a spectacle of lights, or looking for a heart-warming theatrical performance, Boerne is sure to have something for you.  All of these events welcome families to join in on the fun!

Market Days –

There are three special Market Days events happening this season! Each event has everything you already love and enjoy about regularly scheduled Market Days with a twist of Yuletide merriment.  Holiday Gift Market Days kicks off the shopping season on November 11th & 12th with plenty of unique gift choices for your loved ones.  Christmas Market Days will be held on December 9th & 10th, bringing more shopping opportunities and lots of Christmas decorations, food, and live music!  Your last chance to shop this event before Santa comes to town will be the Cowboy Christmas Market Days.  Held December 16th & 17th, take your picture with time period, old west characters and shop antiques, jewelry, clothing, handmade items, and more Hill Country treasures!

Fall Antiques Show – 

Mark your calendars for November 18th & 19th to take a stroll through three large buildings jam-packed with antiques, Christmas trinkets, silver, glassware, furnishings, jewelry, and décor galore!  This is the 2nd annual Fall Antiques Show to be held in Boerne, and it’s the perfect opportunity to get inspired and find creative Christmas gifts for your loved ones.

Dickens On Main – 

The 18th Annual Dickens on Main event is a big one!  With a 60-foot snow slide, live ice-sculpting shows, theatrical performances, snow and TONS of special deals in the shops along the Hill Country Mile, this is a Christmas event that has something for the whole family.  Make memories this Thanksgiving weekend on Boerne’s historic Hauptstrasse for a Christmas experience you’ll remember for a lifetime!

Concerts in the Cave – 

Cave Without A Name hosts spectacular concerts all throughout the year in their enchanting Queen's Throne Room.  This holiday season there are two special performances that are sure to put you in the spirit! Sounds of the Season is November 25th, featuring an a‘Capella quartet – Tinsel – singing the resounding joy of contemporary classics and your favorite carols!  On December 16th, the Celebration Circle takes the stage with Winter Solstice. Relish in the Cave’s stunning acoustics as each band plays holiday favorites!

Oma’s Christmas Craft Fair – 

If you like hand-crafted goods, Oma’s Christmas Craft Fair is for you.  This two-day event, December 2nd and 3rd, has been running for over 30 years where vendors can come and share their crafts and talents alike with the Hill Country community.  Find unique items that have been carved, weaved, sewn, painted, cooked, and drawn to make your gift giving memorable and meaningful!

Weihnacht Parade – 

The annual Weihnacht (Christmas) Parade is a long-standing Boerne tradition.  Since 1986, the Weihnacht Parade has filled the streets with bright lights and vibrant Christmas tunes.  Pack up your chairs and blankets to get settled on Main St. to watch as the floats drive by in all their Christmas glory!

A Walk in Bethlehem – 

St. Helena’s Episcopal Church is hosting a special Christmas event that recreates the nativity story through time-period characters, sights, sounds, smells, and food.  There will even be live camels!  Come out December 5th & 6th to experience the story of baby Jesus for yourself.  For those who are looking for a fun way to celebrate the birth of Christ, this event is for the whole family!

Christmas at the Farm –

Visit the Herff Farm for a community Christmas event!  Enjoy hay/sleigh rides, hot chocolate, caroling, visits with Santa, family photos, crafts, and more.  There will also be a Holiday Market open for fresh goods and other gifts for your friends and family.

 

Christmas Lights Fest –

Light up your holidays at the Don Strange Christmas Lights Fest!  This lighted fun will be held every day from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve from 6-9PM.  Along with 2 million Christmas lights, families can take advantage of refreshments, crafts, and even a little gift shopping!

 

The Christmas Town –

If you're looking for an emphasis on family and togetherness this holiday season, you'll love the Christmas Town event!  Held at the Vanguard Institute on December 9th & 16th, families can do everything together like explore the gingerbread forest, meander on a hayride, stroll through Bethlehem, and more.  Plenty of food, drinks, and music tor everyone to enjoy!
