Boerne has always been a close-knit and proud community, and in the face of adversity, locals have banded together more than ever to show support for each other. Boerne, our businesses need you and below are a few ways you can continue to support your favorite restaurant, coffee shop, boutique or service while maintaining a safe social distance. In this beautiful City we love, most of us know many of the local business owners. In addition to the suggestions below, this is a great time to check in on them – via call, text or email. If social media isn’t your thing, we suggest making an exception during this time so you can stay up to date with all of the changes your favorite places are making to safely serve you!
Food Delivery and Curbside Pickup
Many of your local favorites offer delivery as well as curbside pickup or drive-thru. Some are even selling pantry staples like meat and eggs and putting together reasonably-priced family meals that feed 4-6. Call ahead to make sure they have what you need, and many are updating menus on their social media channels daily!
Purchase Gift Cards
Don’t need anything now, or want to share your love of local with a friend? Consider getting a gift card now! Whether it’s restaurants, attractions, services or boutiques, the easiest way to help now is to purchase gift cards for future use. A great way to support those businesses you already frequent. Your support now could help the most vulnerable businesses stay afloat.
Shop Local When Possible!
Many of our small retailers have had to close their doors during this time, but are doing an amazing job getting their inventory online! Before you turn to big-box retailers and online giants, check to see what our local shops can help you with. Look online for the best Fiesta wear, pick-me-up gifts, Easter basket surprises, comfy clothing, candles, oils, soaps and more! You can see what many downtown retailers are doing here.
Outdoor Art and Virtual Tour
Get a different view of what Boerne has to offer, like its current Art al Fresco and permanent outdoor art exhibits. Trails and some parks are currently open where you can view sculptures, while a virtual tour is available at www.artalfresco.org.
Check On Your Neighbors
Call your elderly or immunocompromised neighbors and make sure they have what they need. Check on friends and family. Ways to help include: mowing grass, putting trash and recycle cans out and helping with grocery and prescription delivery.
Our Boerne community is strong and we will get through this! Stay up to date on City mandates here, continue to practice good habits, and #shopboerne y’all! We are #BoerneStrong!
