Twin Sisters Home & Flooring Opens Inside Old Visitor Center Building!

Twin Sisters Interiors

Only a few short months ago, the Boerne Visitors Center was located on a historic, quaint Boerne landmark known as the Menger-Kingsbury-Shumard Ranch. The two buildings on the property have sat for more than a century on that plot of land. Since the Visitors Center has plans to serve the public in a new building just north of The Dienger Trading Co., we have moved out of the historic ranch house and into our temporary home on Oak Park. Twin Sisters Home & Flooring has made its home inside the old Visitor Center building at 1407 South Main St. and has much to offer the Boerne community and its visitors – check it out and plan to attend their Grand Opening Celebration on January 31st!

The History –

Over the years numerous families occupied the newly renovated and re-purposed ranch house. The original landowner, John Small, was granted 1,280 acres of land as a reward for his service in the Battle of San Jacinto by the President of the Republic of Texas in 1838. As time passed, the land was divided and sold to the Mengers, the Kingsburys, and finally the Shumards before the Boerne Visitor Center would call it home starting in 2005. Adding to its history, Twin Sisters Home & Flooring opened their doors to serve the Boerne community after an extensive renovation and restoration in late 2018!

The Twin Sisters –

A little back story on the new owners of this special Boerne landmark: identical twins, Theresa Naramore and Cheryl Green have been transforming spaces since they were young girls. What were only mere sparks in their eyes back then, Theresa and Cheryl have made their design dreams come true by integrating their unique styles and visions into the homes – and hearts – of their clients. Theresa’s style is more contemporary, and Cheryl considers her style more on the rustic-chic side. When combined, these two can bring beauty and balance to any space!

The Grand Opening –

On January 31, 2019, the celebration and Grand Opening of Twin Sisters Home & Flooring will be the first of many memories for this design duo! The event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to come and enjoy food, drinks, and live entertainment by the Boerne Middle School North jazz band. Tours of the ranch house’s remodel will also be given, and if you’re familiar with the building and what it used to look like – prepare to be amazed! Products like soaps, lotions, home décor, art, lighting and accessories will be available for purchase as well, so come see the latest and greatest in design trends. The ribbon cutting will begin at 4PM and the party will go until 7PM.

The Future –

The twins will keep regular business hours for their design clients as well as shoppers that may be looking for that perfect accent or piece for their home. The main lobby area is filled with beautiful home goods, scrumptious body products and fragrant candles to make your house feel like a home!

As for that defense tower on the back of the property? There is some definite talk about what to use it for. A tasting room for wine? A short term rental property? The Sisters are still brainstorming about what to do with this extra space, but we would have to imagine that whatever they decide to do with it will be something really beautiful. Ever wondered about what the inside of the defense tower looks like? Take a tour at the Grand Opening party and see for yourself! You can follow the Twin Sisters on their website, Instagram and Facebook.

We’ve definitely made lots of mentioning in the past about what’s coming for the Boerne Visitors Center. We can’t wait to get into our new, permanent location down along the Hill Country Mile. We’ve got a lot to look forward to and hope you will make a stop in to see us and our new digs at 282 North Main St.!
