· Chamber and City Staff have met to discuss recommendations of the Grant Allocation Committee
· City will be updating the Council asking for Council feedback
· City is working on the format and moving forward with a new process that involves an advisory board

Chamber of Commerce - Tourism Council Meeting – May 23, 2007
The regular meeting was held at the Best Western.
Call to Order
Introductions
Historic Homes Update - There were over 450 tickets sold, with over 250 returned to the Visitors Center to be entered in the drawing for the Col. Betties Edmonds print. Next year there is consideration in making the tour consist of fewer locations, and making it last longer. Some of the visitors felt rushed through the tour as well as some of the volunteers helping with the tour were unable to attend. Historic Homes Tour money will be used to fund other events.
Adventure Fest Update – 10 days until the event. Radio and web advertising has started. There is an Adventure Fest committee meetings the next two Wednesdays at noon at the Visitor Center.
Co-Op opportunities - Discussed Playbill, Texas Highways and Texas Parks and Wildlife ads for next year and the possibility of purchasing 12 month insertions in TX Highways. State Publication ad rates are regulated by the State of Texas so the only discounts come from multiple insertions or umbrella contracts for multiple publications.
Update on Grant Allocation Committee - City is working on the format and moving forward to form an advisory board.
Announcements/New Business –
Art exhibits at the Boerne VC. Some of the artists have been happy with the sales at the center. Visibility need to be added on the website. Carriage house is being moved to Rosewood Street. Art and Conservation show will begin at the Visitors Center next week as the first stop of the tour.
San Antonio Tour Guides Association was recently hosted by the Boerne CVB.
Make table tents for restaurant tables that say shop Boerne, events on the other side.
Question was asked - What was done for National Tourism Week this year?
- The Historic Homes Tour was the National Tourism Week event.
- CVB director wrote the Chamber of Commerce article in the local papers for the week.
- CVB could host a National Tourism Week luncheon, but at least for this year efforts were concentrated on the community-wide event (The Historic Homes Tour)
Next meeting will be June 27th , 8am at the Best Western.
