Fees: 

$50 per session - resident
$65 per session - non resident

Swimming lessons will be given by certified instructors Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Some evening classes are provided. Specific schedules will be furnished to participants. All Classes are 30 minutes.

*All classes and times are subject to change. Availability of classes is subject to a required minimum number enrolled.

*Several people have been trying to pull their child from a class 7 or less days from the beginning of the class.

Swim Lessons

Sessions

They are two weeks sessions Tuesdays thru Fridays for a total of eight classes per session:

  • Session I: June 2, 2020 thru June 12, 2020
  • Session II: June 16, 2020 thru June 26, 2020
  • Session III: July 7, 2020 thru July 17, 2020
  • Session IV: July 21, 2020 thru July 31, 2020

  • Parent Child (6 months minimum)- 9:00 am, 9:45 am (Session I includes: 6:15 pm to 6:45 pm)
  • Beginners 9:00 am, 9:45 am, 10:30 am, 11:15 am, 12:00 pm (Sessions I & II includes: 6:15 to 6:45 pm)
  • Intermediate Beginners 10:00 am, 10:45 am, 11:30 am, 12:15 pm (Sessions II & III includes: 6:15 to 6:45 pm)
  • Advanced Beginners 10:00 am, 10:45 am, 11:30 am, 12:15 pm (Sessions III & IV includes: 6:15 to 6:45 pm)
  • Stroke Readiness 10:45 am, 11:30 am, 12:15 pm (Session IV includes: 6:15 to 6:45 pm)

Parent & Child
Registration for this level requires a parent or guardian to be in the water with the child at all times.

This level is designed to help young children develop a comfort being in and around water and begin to develop a readiness to swim. This level encourages the child to gain knowledge of water safety and confidence as they begin to learn the fundamentals of swimming with a parent or guardian.

THIS COURSE DOES NOT TEACH CHILDREN TO BE ACCOMPLISHED SWIMMERS NOR TO SURVIVE IN THE WATER.

Beginners
Students registering for this level may or may not be comfortable in the water yet.

This level is designed to help students become oriented to and feel comfortable in the water. This course begins teaching students the fundamental components needed to continue to build their skills as they progress in the swim program. Basic components to be taught: blowing bubbles, bobbing, floating on front/back, kicks on the front/back, enter/exit water independently, submerging face, retrieving objects, and basic water safety rules.

Intermediate Beginners
Students registering for this level should be somewhat comfortable putting their face in the water and have mastered the skills of the beginner level.

This class build on the beginner level, working on the skills being accomplished unsupported. Fundamental swimming skills are emphasized along with water safety skills.

Basic skills covered will be bubble blowing and breathing control, floating, gliding and kicking on front/back. Students will learn arm movements for the front and back crawl and will begin to coordinate and combine the kicks and arms for both strokes.

Advanced Beginners
Students registering for this class should be competent in the skills at the intermediate level and be comfortable putting their entire head under water as well as being in the water over their head.

Stroke Readiness
Students registering for this level should have completed the skills in advanced beginner and must be fairly competent in freestyle and backstroke kicks with coordinated arm action. They should be comfortable in deep water as well as completely submerging their head.

Students at this level will work to refine freestyle with side breathing, backstroke and increase treading water endurance. They will be introduced to the backstroke kick with coordinating arm action, butterfly body movement, and the basics of diving and diving safely.
